Behind an amazing effort from Oliver Perez (7 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 8 K, 0 BB), the Mets earned a win and finished the statistical first half of the season one game under .500.
As a Braves fan... I have to admit. I actually like it when the Mets beat the Yankees.
I guess my hatred for the Bronx team is on an entirely different level than that for the Mets. And since the Yankees hate the Mets just as much, it's just as insulting for them to be beat by the flushing boys.
my hate for the Mets is a rivalry hate. but a respectful "hate". Like you hate losing to your brother because you face each other day after day.
I hate the Yankees as an ethos, franchise, way of life.... the list goes on. In spite of all the "history" I can't stand how that organization is run and I would cheer for the Iraqi National Baseball Team over the Yankees. So I have no problem enjoying a Mets win against NYY.
It's not a new site. Just a revamp of the old. Same archives but I'm taking in a slightly different direction. It's a long story but The Launching Pad is me and the same site as BravesBlog. Just new look and layout. Still makin' tweaks.
