Last week, I ran a poll asking how many wins the Mets would notch in 2010. The results came back with the majority of fans picking them to win between 81-90 wins.
With such a wide span of wins, I figured it only made sense to post this poll. Where do you see the Mets ending the 2010 season? Vote below and hit the comments to discuss.
After 785 votes, the results are in. The majority, over 56 percent of votes, have the Mets winning between 81-90 games this season.
Later in the week I’ll have another poll on where you think the team will finish. I’m really interested to see the results of that one.

Update – 12:02 a.m.: Well, here’s a fitting start to the rumor-mongering I so hate (yet so get sucked into all the time). The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Blue Jays want “no part” of Bradley. And who can blame them.
Still, keep voting. It started as just a hypothetical, anyway.
Original post: Ken Rosenthal is reporting from the GM meetings in Chicago that a deal that would send Luis Castillo to the Cubs and bring Lyle Overbay to the Mets has been “discussed.”
A three-team deal that would also send Milton Bradley to Toronto has “some legs, but not much,” according to a source of Rosenthal’s.
Overbay, a left-hand hitting first baseman, shouldn’t be on the top of the priority list for the Mets. I’m not sure if they realize it, but Daniel Murphy is still on the roster. It’d be a silly move, especially with Ike Davis prospering in the minor leagues. (Overbay only has one year left on his deal, so it wouldn’t affect Davis.)

An overwhelming majority thinks Martinez still needs some time in the minor leagues to work on his game. His .183 batting average and .256 OBP seems to highlight that thought.

Many of these votes came in before Redding turned out a nice performance against the Washington Nationals. I would guess most of the votes would stay the same though, because it’s still the Nationals.

In the latest poll, I asked fans if they liked the move of Daniel Murphy to first base.
Here are the results:
Murphy has looked decent at first so far, with somewhat of an expected learning curve. Unfortunately, outside of his five RBI game this past week, Murphy hasn’t been hitting much.
Since taking over at first base, Murphy has four hits in his last 24 at bats with three walks and five RBIs. That’s a .167 batting average. Three of those hits and all of those RBIs came on May 27 against Washington.
If the Mets are liking what the see out of Murphy, they may be inclined to stick with him at first base next year and beyond. Hopefully his bat comes back sometime soon.

I voted “No!” Though he’s a great hitter, I could only imagine how he’s going to act once he gets back to the team. It’s going to be an absolute media circus in the clubhouse, something that could be very distracting to other players.
Though the Mets need power from their lineup, especially with Carlos Delgado out, but would Manny have been the answer? We will never know.
