If this photo isn't a metaphor
for the Mets season
as they approach the finish line,
I don't know what is.

Photo of the Day: Jonathon Niese

The man had a reason to celebrate.

Jonathon Niese threw eight shutout innings en route to his first major league win. He also picked up his first major league hit.

Well done, sir.

Photo of the Day: Happy Mets

And how can they not be happy?

Literally everything is going right for these Mets and the rest of the team as
they're riding high into the All Star break winners of nine straight games.

Photo of the Day: Evans

Nick Evans had a pretty good MLB debut, if I do say so myself.
I dare not resize this because this photo needs to be seen in all it's glory.

"Splish splash, I was cursing out my team
Long about a Thursday night
A rub-a-dub, just runnin' on the field
Hopin' everything would be all right"

Photo of the Day: Reyes

Photo from Game 2Yes, I know Jose Reyes was the photo from the first game, but this shot was excellent.
Reyes needed some huge ups to leap and catch a ball that Carlos Delgado seemingly airmailed to left field. I don't know how he got up and made that catch, but it made for an awesome photo.

Photo from Game 1Anyone else ever notice as soon as the game's over, Jose Reyes un-tucks his shirt as soon as possible?

Photo of the Day: Reyes

Two things:
Jose Reyes, I agree. The strike zone was miserable.
and
Doesn't Reyes look like a giant here? I found solace in that, at least.

Photo of the Day: Perez

Again, this photo says it all.
Oliver Perez gave up three home runs Monday night.

Honorable mention to this photo and this photo.

Photo of the Day: Wright and Reyes

David Wright and Jose Reyes were the stars of the show Friday night as they went 6-9, driving in three RBI and scoring four times. They hit two triples, two doubles, and a home run.

I think I'm going to name one of my children "Five" and the other one "Seven."
